Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) Initiative
The IKM initiative brings together MEAs to develop harmonized and interoperable information systems for the benefit of Conferences of Parties (COP) and the environment community at large. InforMEA is the first project established by this Initiative. The MEA IKM initiative currently includes 43 international and regional legally binding instruments from 17 Secretariats hosted by three UN organisations and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Programme Information and Management System (PIMS) was created with the intention
of supporting the functional needs of the entire UNEP Programme of Work cycle.
Since its launch in 2009, PIMS has contributed to the improvement of programme
delivery in the organization. It supports the planning process, guiding the way in which UNEP plans its future
programming and allocates resources in a more strategic manner, taking into account lessons learned and good practices.
Please note that the project information as shown is as was approved at the beginning of the project.
